To help with my solo sailing docking, I’ve added a large 8″ stainless Schaefer mid-ship cleat to the forward part of the starboard Genoa track. Now when I come in to dock, I have a pre-set looped line (colored STOP red) that I can place around the first dock cleat to catch and secure me as I come in. Once secured around the dock cleat, I slowly move the boat forward until tension is on this single line, gently pulling the boat snug up to the dock. With the engine in forward idle, I adjust the tiller so she sits exactly straight in her slip can then get out and secure the rest of the lines.
